    • Congrats to Tim & @cleanskies. The disco last night made me feel like I was a teenager again. Not quite on top form this morning, though. #
    • @darwin @torchbox is changing its name to Cotswolds Media Solutions (CMS), an asteroid hit Unit 5 and we've all got swine flu. Welcome back!
  • Drupal module: watermarking your development sites

If you've ever been programming in dev-test-prod environments and thought "now, where am I?" then this might be for you.

Developing Drupal in a development--test--production environment has a lot of advantages.

    • Why is @Lon2012don now following me, given I consider the 2012 Olympics to be a sorry waste of potentially useful arts funding? #mocknblock #
    • Sounds like practically everyone I know had a great weekend at #truck09 . Ultimately glad we didn't get tickets this year, but next year....

    • @wesayso I'd like to say it's an experiment in real-time user testing, but really it's just horribly addictive, like picking at a scab.

    • Downgrading again. Sometimes it feels like TinyMCE 2.1.3 was last version that behaved with third-party systems like #drupal WYSIWYG. #
    • Multiple upgrades, downgrades, uninstalls, patches and dev versions later, got #drupal Image Assist, TinyMCE 3.x and WYSIWYG API talking.
  • Successful OGN 13: free drinks, good speakers, hilarious pratfall

    jp.stacey 19 July 2009
Everyone got a free drink except me: instead, I got a lump on my shin the size and shape of a quail egg.

I've finally recovered from this week's Oxford Geek Night 13. As usual, it seems like everyone had a great time; as usual, I was running round too much to notice. Free drinks from the Guardian Open Platform almost certainly helped.

As usual the talks were a really high standard, with great keynote talks from Andrew Walkingshaw and Bruce Lawson.

    • Early journey into work to avoid possible thunderstorms - and I half-petted, half-helped a wild rabbit (I think) hit by a chunk of gravel. #
    • "Warm your hands on the toasty Mac!" #
    • Hello to @andrewgodwin from @torchbox unit 8, who haven't actually seen him arrive yet.
  • Otiosity

    jp.stacey 9 July 2009
Host of hosts am I, Otiosity. If anyone would now how great my service is and where it is, let him work out one of my fails.

I met a cleaner from an office block
Who said: two vast and screenless colo'ed hosts
Sit in a cellar. 'Twixt them on the rack,
Half configured, a firewall lies, so close
Its blinking lights and beeps of foiled attack
Merge with those of the other two machines
Which yet broadcast, unheeded, on the wire
Requests blocked by that firewall in between.
And from an email to us now we hear:
"This is your hosting company, 'Hosts On Fire.'
Your two machines are firewalled: do not fear!"
    No traffic through can pass.

  • More sponsorship for OGN13: Friends of Ed and Moo

    jp.stacey 6 July 2009
Torchbox, Guardian Open Platform, Friends of Ed and Moo. At this rate we'll be able to gold-plate the OGN microphone.

Friends of Ed and Moo, publisher in tech/design and online printer of gorgeous business cards respectively, have both very kindly agreed to add their sponsorship to the pot for Oxford Geek Night 13 on Wednesday 15 July.

    • Feel like I've missed a week's worth of everything. Except Jackson's death, which sis-in-law texted about while we were stocking up in Lidl. #
    • RT @j4 "I should be able to cycle to work free from people threatening to kill or maim me" - hear hear!
